The 50 year old New Zealand golfer Greg Turner is off to a good start at his first British Seniors Open.
Despite five bogeys in his round, Turner still managed an even par 70 at Royal Birkdale in Lancashire to be within three shots of the lead in a tie for 12th.
The American Gene Sauers leads by one shot from a group which includes the great German Bernhard Langer and the Australian evergreen Peter Senior.
