NRL to hunt down racist abuser of Inglis

4:52 pm on 25 July 2013

The National Rugby League says it wants to track down the person responsible for a racist taunt on social media directed at Rabitohs and Queensland star Greg Inglis.

The NRL has condemned the taunt, saying there is simply no room for debate, racism in any form is abhorrent and contrary to every value of the game.

The Chair of the Australian Rugby League Indigenous Council, the MP Linda Burney

says people fail to appreciate the hurt caused by racist comments.

She says all Australians should feel offended that anyone could think that it is acceptable to speak about someone in this way.

The NRL will investigate the extent to which the person can be identified and what action can be taken.
