Swiss tennis great Roger Federer has slipped out of the top four in the men's world rankings for the first time since 2003, while Spaniard David Ferrer has reached his highest-ever position at number three.

To add to Federer's pain, Spanish arch-rival Rafael Nadal is up to fourth, despite a first-round Wimbledon exit - Federer lost in the second round in London.

Novak Djokovic remains the top man, followed more closely by Scotland's Andy Murray after his breakthrough Wimbledon triumph over the Serb.

Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro climbs one spot to seventh, above France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Meanwhile Russia's Maria Sharapova is back up to number two in the latest WTA women's rankings, behind American great Serena Williams.

Belarusian Victoria Azarenka drops one place to world number three, while China's Li Na leapfrogs Italian Sara Errani to fifth.

Wimbledon winner Marion Bartoli of France is the biggest mover, up eight places to seventh.
