Crusaders fullback signs with Chiefs

6:11 am on 9 July 2013

The defending Super Rugby champions the Chiefs have signed Crusaders fullback Tom Marshall on a two-year deal.

The recent announcement by All Blacks fullback Israel Dagg that he was staying with the Chrishchurch franchise may well have prompted Marshall to make the move, as he's keen to get regularly game time at fullback.

The Chiefs coach Dave Rennie coached Marshall when he was a member of the New Zealand under-20 side in 2010 and has described Marshall as a quality man and a quality player.

Marshall will move to Hamilton at the end of his national provincial competition season with Tasman.

Last week Highlanders prop Jamie Mackintosh also announced he was moving to the Chiefs.
