Team New Zealand to race despite boycott

4:41 pm on 6 July 2013

Team New Zealand will be on the water and ready to race on Monday in the first race of the Louis Vuitton Cup challengers' series.

Luna Rossa, the adversary for the first race of the 34th America's Cup, has indicated that the team might not be at the start line.

Luna Rossa says it will not race until the international jury hears its protest against the regatta director unilaterally changing the AC72 class rule. This is due to take place on Tuesday.

Team New Zealand has also protested against the regatta director's action.

Skipper Dean Barker told the traditional pre-regatta skippers' press conference that whether or not Luna Rossa decides to race, Team New Zealand will be out on the race course.

Saturday's parade of sail and time trials on the America's Cup race course were cancelled because of high winds.
