The Australian Julie Fitzgerald has been named as the new Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic netball coach.
Fitzgerald has signed a two-year contract and takes over from Noeline Taurua who stood down after 6 years in charge.
Fitzgerald was head coach of the champion New South Wales Swifts in the inaugural year of the trans-Tasman competition in 2008, a position she held until 2011.
She has since worked at the Australian Institute of Sport and last year was assistant coach with the Australian national side.
