Horwill to find out his fate later this morning

The Australian rugby captain James Horwill will find out later this morning if he'll be free to play in Saturday's deciding test against the British and Irish Lions in Sydney.

The International Rugby Board's appeal after Horwill was exonerated by the NZ judicial officer Nigel Hampton of a stamping charge in the first test was adjourned last night after nearly two hours.

The Australian Rugby Union is incensed by the appeal - the first the IRB has launched against a player being cleared by one of their judicial officers - and has fought for their captain's availability with a crack legal team.

The Lions have already lost their captain Sam Warburton for the ANZ Stadium decider.

The star flanker suffered a significant hamstring tear late in the second half of the Melbourne test last Saturday night.
