Added incentive for New Zealand cricket

New Zealand cricket teams have added incentive to win the domestic Twenty20 championship with confirmation of Otago's participation in October's Indian Champions League, which will have prize money of $10 million.

It's not a winner takes all tournament and New Zealand Cricket says some of whatever Otago wins will be distributed around the other major associations.

Meanwhile Otago Cricket's Chief Executive Ross Dykes says it's a great chance to promote domestic cricket and not just at elite level.

The league will include three teams from the IPL, two each from Australia, England and South Africa, and the New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lankan champions.
