The Australian cricketers have easily beaten South Africa by 141 runs in the first one-dayer in Durban.

Man of the match Mike Hussey scored 83 not out as Australia compiled 286 then the off-spinner Nathan Hauritz snapped up four wickets as the hosts were bowled out for just 145.

Hauritz's career-best figures of four for 29 condemned South Africa to their heaviest one-day defeat against Australia.

Hussey meanwhile has joined the list of Australian players to withdraw from this month's Indian Premier League tournament, preferring to spend time at home with his family ahead of the Ashes tour in July.
