World and Olympic shotput champion Valerie Vili has won her 9th national title at the New Zealand Championships in Wellington.
Vili's best throw was her 6th and last with a distance of 19.81 metres.
Beatrice Faumuina won her 16th discus title, but had some trouble doing it... she fouled her first 3 throws and would have then been eliminated had it not been for the fact that there were only 8 competitors and all 8 of them were able to get 3 more throws.
She then threw 60.03 metres with her 5th throw which gives her a B standard qualifying mark for the this year's World Championships.
Sprinter Monique Williams has completed two-thirds of the treble she's after this weekend... winning the 400 metres today to go with the 100 she won yesterday.... she'll race the 200 tomorrow.
