Desperate situation calls for desperate measures as Black Caps take on India

9:57 am on 11 March 2009

Desperate for a change of fortune the New Zealand cricketers are set to bat first should they win the toss in today's fourth one dayer against India in Hamilton.

Chasing down a total has traditionally been the batting strength of the Black Caps but vice captain Brendon McCullum admits they need to do something to put India off their game.

India have posted large totals batting first having climbed into the New Zealand bowlers, but with the McCullum and Jesse Ryder putting on 160 for the opening stand in the last match, McCullum will be recommending to returning skipper Dan Vettori they bat first.

Play scheduled to start in Hamilton at 2...... however a few showers are forecast for today.
