Campbell pulls out of NZ PGA as shoulder injury flares up

An ongoing shoulder injury has forced Michael Campbell out of the New Zealand PGA Golf Championships at Christchurch's Clearwater course early next month.

The injury flare up means the Titahi Bay product is also likely to miss the NZ Golf Open in Queenstown in mid-march.

Campbell initially hurt his shoulder November using pain-killers to play through the discomfort but says he now regrets that decision as the injury has caused him to withdraw from his last three events.

The 2005 US Open champion is due to be seen by specialists in Melbourne tomorrow who should paint a clearer picture of when he is likely to resume playing.
