New Zealand's beaten 24-7 by Kenya in their final pool game in the latest round of the International Rugby Board's Seven Series at San Diego.
Kenya led 14-7 at half-time and nailed their first win over New Zealand with the third of their four tries.
Earlier New Zealand beat France and Uruguay while Kenya started with a loss to Uruguay then thrashed France 33-0.
New Zealand will play South Africa in tomorrow's quarter-finals where Samoa play Argentina, Fiji take on England and Kenya face the USA, who lost to South Africa by only one point before beating Australia.
