The Chiefs have ended their Super 14 rugby pre-season campaign on a high note, defeating the Hurricanes 38-24 at Gisborne's Rugby Park.
The Chiefs scored four first half tries, including one to halfback Brendon Leonard who returned from a long injury lay off.
They crossed twice more in the second half in the six try to four performance.
