Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will meet in the French Tennis Open semi-finals after contrasting wins in their quarter-finals.
Nadal bulldozed his way into the last four with a 6-2 6-3 6-1 win over the Swiss 9th seed Stanislas Wawrinka, while the world number one Djokovic subdued the challenge of the 35-year-old German Tommy Haas 6-3 7-6 7-5.
Haas had given Djokovic a mauling just over two months ago in Miami.
In the womens quarter-finals, the defending champion Maria Sharapova didn't win a game in the opening set against the Serb Jelena Jankovic, but recovered her composure to take the next two 6-4 6-3.
And the former world number one Victoria Azarenka from Belarus beat her former doubles partner Maria Kirilenko from Russia in straight sets to reach the semi-finals in Paris for the first time.
