Pakistan cricket umpire withdrawn from Champions Trophy

The Pakistan cricket umpire Asad Rauf has been withdrawn from the one day Champions Trophy in June with media reports saying he's being investigated by police in India.

The International Cricket Council chief executive David Richardson wouldn't comment on what the police are reportedly investigating.

But he says they feel it's in the best interest of Rauf, the event and the sport that he not officiate.

Rauf, who's 57, has been on the ICC's elite panel of umpires since 2006.

He was one of the umpires in the controversial Indian Premier League match that saw Rajasthan Royals three players arrested for alleged spot fixing.
