The Warriors back rower Feleti Mateo is to stay with the Auckland-based National Rugby League club until the end of the 2016 season, after signing a new three-year contract.
The 29-year-old, who will play his 150th NRL game against Penrith this weekend, had been chased by several clubs including St George-Illawarra.
With his wife expecting their first child in September, Mateo had been mulling a return to Australia to be closer to family.
The Warriors coach Matthew Elliott Head says re-signing Mateo is a major step forward for the club.
