Australian Olympic Committee gets tough on doping investigations

3:23 pm on 4 May 2013

A new by-law enacted by Australia's Olympic Committee forces athletes and officials to co-operate with anti-doping investigations.

The committee says people identified by the Australian Sports Anti Doping Authority must now answer any question even if it means self incrimination.

The by-law follows legal argument between ASADA and the Cronulla Sharks rugby league club on Monday over what constitutes reasonable assistance by players.

ASADA is investigating the alleged use of prohibited substances at the club during the 2011 season.
