The Australian NBL basketball champions the New Zealand Breakers have released utility Leon Henry from the second year of his two-year contract.
Henry is now a free agent and able to seek a new contract with other NBL clubs immediately.
Breakers general manager Richard Clarke says they came to a decision to release Henry to allow them to negotiate their way under the salary and points cap, and the rookie Reuben Te Rangi will be upgraded to a full contract.
The Breakers currently have six players under contract for the 2013-14 season, with two local positions and two import positions to be confirmed.
