6:14 am on 12 April 2013

The Australian golfer Marc Leishman is on top of the first day leaderboard at the Masters, the first major championship of the season.

Leishman dropped a shot on his first hole, but he's since made 6 birdies and at 5 under par through 15 holes, he's one stroke ahead of the Englishman David Lynn, who's finished, and there's a four-way tied for third between Jim Furyk, Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and KJ Choi.

The favourite Tiger Woods is 2-under par after 10 holes, and the second favourite and world number two Rory McIlroy tees off in the second to last group.
