Marshall out for month

6:57 am on 11 April 2013

Wests Tigers' five-eighth Benji Marshall will miss at least a month of NRL action after scans confirmed the Kiwis star had fallen victim to the dreaded toe ligament injury known as turf toe.

Marshall suffered the injury during Monday night's loss to Melbourne, and his club initially thought he could be out of the game for up to three months.

The injury will be protected by a moon boot for another two weeks, keeping him out of Friday week's test against Australia in Canberra.

Meanwhile Melbourne's brilliant fullback Billy Slater is also in a moon boot and very much in doubt for the Storm's top-of-the-table NRL clash with South Sydney on Saturday night, and the test against the Kiwis.
