The Breakers point guard Cedric Jackson has been named the Australian National Basketball League MVP.

Jackson was a red-hot favourite for the NBL award after starring in the Breakers minor-premiership winning team.

He led the league in assists (7.2 per game) and steals (2.8 per game) and finished among the top ten scorers with 15.6 points a match.

Jackson finished just ahead of Sydney Kings co-captain Ben Madgen, who won the most improved award.

Breakers' mentor Andrej Lemanis was named coach of the year.

Jackson was named in the all-NBL first team, Mika Vukona made the second team and Tom Abercrombie the third team.
