The turbulent reign of the perennially suspended Asian Football Confederation boss Mohamed Bin Hammam will finally end in the next few months when the regional body elects a new president.
The AFC has released a statement saying the election of a new leader was 'subject to recommendations and advice of the AFC Legal Committee'.
The Confederation chairman since May last year, China's Zhang Jilong, is a likely candidate to assume the role fulltime.
Mohammed Bin Hammam has been out of office for the last 18 months fighting corruption allegations within football's world governing body FIFA.
