Football in Australia is looking in good health with the round ball game's ruling body unveiling a new four-year broadcast deal worth more than $200 million - double the previous agreement.
Football Federation Australia's new boss David Gallop, the ex-boss of rival code the NRL, says the former sleeping giant of Australian sport is awake, out of bed and in the street now with some cash in his pockets.
Some A-League matches will be shown on free-to-air television for the first time on SBS and the network will also broadcast all finals matches, including the grand final, on a one-hour delay, with a weekly highlights show.
The A-League salary cap will not be raised despite the extra cash coming into the game.
The A$160 million deal consists of $140 million cash and $20 million in advertising.
