The Phoenix forward Paul Ifill believes Football Federation Australia's handling of defender Ben Sigmund's sending-off sets a concerning precedent.
The Adelaide striker Jeronimo Neumann was called a cheat by Phoenix captain Andrew Durante for diving when tackled by Sigmund who was subsequently sent off in last weekend's 3-1 A League loss.
Neumann was cleared of diving by the FFA despite television footage suggesting otherwise.
Ifill says the decision leaves players in a quandary.
He says it's an embarrassment the way some players dive and it a blight on the game around the world.
However in light of last weekend's situation he's now got to consider it.
