The Waikato golfer Emily Perry is excited about making her debut at the Espirito Santo World Amateur Team Championship in Turkey this week which is likely to be her final event as an amateur.

The 21-year-old from the Lochiel Golf Club narrowly missed selection in 2010 and is pleased to achieve the goal of making the team two years later alongside World number one amateur Lydia Ko of Gulf Harbour and Munchin Keh of Titirangi.

Perry says she's been working towards this goal since she missed out two years ago so she's really excited about this opportunity.

Perry's crowning moment in her amateur career came in March when she defeated Ko to win the New Zealand Stroke Play at the Hastings Golf Club.

Perry, who has consistently represented New Zealand for the past two years, believes her international experience will be an asset at the biggest event in amateur golf.

Perry is looking forward to testing herself against the best golfers in the world as she eyes a career on the Ladies European Tour.

She will attend the Q School in Morocco in December.
