The Spanish football federation, flush with cash after the national team's phenomenal run in recent years, will forego its state subsidy next year for the second year in a row.
With a host of corporate sponsors on their books, headed by Adidas, the Federation has decided not to claim its subsidy of 3-4 million euros - which is about three percent of its annual budget.
The money will be shared among other sports federations who are facing a new round of hefty cuts forced on the government by the country's economic crisis.
