Taranaki has beaten Bay of Plenty 37-22 in the provincial rugby competition at Mount Maunganui.
Taranaki led 20-8 at halftime and scored four tries to Bay of Plenty's three.
Bay of Plenty wing Lelia Masaga opened the tryscoring midway through the first half, while lock James Broadhurst and national sevens star Waisake Naholo replied for Taranaki.
The visitors scored again after the break with an intercept try to first five Beauden Barrett, while the Steamers lock Cullum Retallick and replacement back Lance McDonald gave the scoreline some respectability for the home side, before captain Jason Eaton sealed the bonus point on fulltime for Taranaki.
Otago beat Northland 46-34 in a highscoring late game in Dunedin.
