The Sri Lankan paceman Lasith Malinga will play for the Melbourne Stars this summer in the Australian Twenty/20 cricket competition.

The Stars completed their lineup on Tuesday by announcing Malinga's signing and that legendary Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne would captain the side.

Malinga is one of the world's top Twenty/20 bowlers and is renowned for his yorkers.

Warne says Melbourne were having ongoing talks with Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt about joining the team.

The Stars president Eddie McGuire says Bolt was 'jumping out of his skin' about the possibility of a role with the franchise.
