Hesson tough on batsmen

The new New Zealand cricket coach, Mike Hesson, faces a herculean task in reversing the Black Caps form for next month's tour of India.

The New Zealand squad for India was named yesterday as well as the squad for the Twenty/20 world cup which starts in Sri Lanka in September.

The Black Caps were woeful in the recent tour to the West Indies, where they won just one of ten games and outgoing coach John Wright was critical of the batsmen's lack of personal accountability.

Hesson agrees and says the batsmen's mental toughness is one thing that must improve if they're to have any chance in India and Sri Lanka.
