The England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has finally apologised for sending "provocative" text messages to South African players but team officials say it's soon to say if he will be recalled to the side.
Last weekend, South African-born Pietersen was dramatically dropped from England's squad for this week's third and final Test at Lord's, after failing to reveal the contents of text messages he says were simply banter among close friends.
Pietersen has apologised to the England captain Andrew Strauss and the team for his inappropriate remarks at a media conference and for the text messages.
England need to win the third and final test to share the series and retain their number one test ranking.
