The Chiefs coach Dave Rennie says they're using the painful memories of the 2009 Super Rugby final as motivation for tonight's trophy match against the Sharks.
The Chiefs were handed a 61-17 drubbing by the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld three years ago in the franchise' only other final appearance.
Six current Chiefs played in that match and Rennie says plenty of lessons can be learnt from the 2009 defeat.
