The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic have become the first New Zealand side to win the trans-Tasman netball competition, beating the Melbourne Vixen 41-38 in Melbourne.
The Vixens led at end of the first, second and third quarters but the Magic took the lead in the final few minutes, of what was an error-ridden match.
The result caps off a remarkable season for the Magic, who after the first four rounds of the competition were in last place in the competition, not having won a match.
But since then they've gone onto to win 12 matches on the trot, culminating in the success in the final.
