Sharks, Roosters in first draw of NRL season

6:15 am on 10 July 2012

The Cronulla Sharks and Sydney Roosters fought out a 14-all draw last night in Sydney, the first tied result this National Rugby League season.

Todd Carney looked like returning to haunt the club that cut him loose last year as he dominated for the Sharks, but he missed a field goal in the dying seconds of regulation play and two more in extra time, while the Roosters No.7 Mitchell Pearce missed with three attempts, including the best opportunity two minutes from the end.

Cronulla's point takes them into outright third place, while the Roosters are 12th.
