The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic netballers have beaten the previously top of the table Adelaide Thunderbirds with a dominant 59-42 win in Tauranga.
It's the Magic's eighth straight win in the trans-Tasman championship and they go top for now, but probably need one more in the final round of pool play if they're to make the playoffs, thanks to a slow start when they lost four straight games.
The Magic led 27-21 at half-time and surged ahead in a massive third quarter to lead 45-28 as turnovers cost the Thunderbirds.
Magic shooter Irene van Dyk shot 41 from 42 attempts and Julianna Naoupu 18 from 23.
