The New Zealand cyclist Greg Henderson will ride his first Tour de France after being named in the Belgium Lotto team for the classic which starts next weekend.

Belgian Jurgen Van den Broeck will head the Lotto team after finishing fourth last year, while Henderson will help the team's German sprint star Andre Gripel.

Henderson's selection will boost his chances of making the two-man New Zealand road team for the Olympics.
