Farquhar below best in Oslo

The New Zealand javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar has finished seventh at the Oslo Diamond League athletics meeting.

Farquhar, who has the world's best throw this year of 86 metres, was well below his best with none of his throws getting over 79 metres.

Distance runner Adrian Blincoe finished 16th in the 5,000 metres.

Blincoe, who will also compete at the London Olympics, ran a time of 13 minutes and 26 seconds, finishing behind 14 Africans, including 10 from Ethiopia, who filled the top five places.

Usain Bolt won the 100 metres in a time of 9.79 seconds with Asafa Powell second.
