Extra games at Vector for NZ Breakers

5:19 pm on 6 June 2012

The New Zealand Breakers will play two extra games at Vector Arena next NBL basketball season, bringing to five the number of home fixtures at the larger central Auckland stadium.

The new season tips off on Friday October the 5th when the Breakers will raise their second straight NBL championship banner against the Gold Coast Blaze at the North Shore Events Centre, with the extra games at Vector beginning a week later when the Wollongong Hawks visit.

The two-time champions are drawn to play four-game series against Wollongong, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Adelaide this season, with all others being three game series.

The Breakers will have the home split on the Perth Wildcats and Cairns Taipans, removing at least two potentially draining away trips from the schedule.

The home advantage goes the way of the opposition in series against Townsville and Sydney.
