The England cricket star Kevin Pietersen has shocked his bosses by announcing his retirement from limited overs internationals.
The 31-year-old says his decision was influenced by the increasing demands of international cricket on his body, and Pietersen wants to give the next generation of players a chance to bed in before the 2015 World Cup.
England are due to launch the defence of their Twenty20 World Cup crown in September.
