The New Zealand's men's hockey team have booked their first appearance in the final of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup with a crushing 4-1 win over the hosts Malaysia.

The Black Sticks had the game sewn up by half-time, racing to a 3-0 lead with goals from Ryan Archibald, Shea McAleese and Nick Wilson.

Malaysia scored their only goal in the 45th minute before Shay Neal put the result beyond doubt.

The Black Sticks play their final round robin game against South Korea tomorrow and their opponents in Sunday night's final will be either Argentina or the pre-tournament favourites Great Britain, who were held to a 1-1 draw last night by South Korea.

Pakistan are at the bottom of the seven-team table after their 2-1 loss to India.
