Horwill's injury a mystery

6:08 am on 29 May 2012

The prognosis for the Wallabies rugby captain James Horwill has worsened folllowing disappointing scan results.

Coach Robbie Deans said yesterday he thought Horwill would miss next month's four home tests against Scotland and Wales because the Queensland lock's torn hamstring wasn't as bad as was first thought.

But a Wallabies spokesperson said last night the injury is something of a mystery, and there's even some doubt about Horwill playing in the inaugural Four Nations chamionship starting in August.

Meanwhile the Wallabies utility back Kurtley Beale has had surgery on his injured shoulder and he'll be off the scene for up to four weeks.
