Storm crush Broncos, Rabbitohs victorious

The Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin didn't hide his disappointment after Brisbane crashed to their third straight NRL loss at the hands of a ruthless Melbourne 34-10 at AAMI Park on Friday night.

Brisbane's dressing room resembled a morgue after the six-tries-to-two loss, with the Storm surging six points clear of their rivals on top of the NRL ladder.

Griffin, who opted to rest three of his State of Origin veterans, Petero Civoniceva, Sam Thaiday and Justin Hodges, put his hand up in the post match press conference, refusing to offer any excuses and instead criticiszing his players.

An injury to forward Dave Hala, which may have ended his season, made it a lousy night for the Broncos.

Hala was taken by ambulance to hospital after the game with a torn tendon in his knee which may also have been dislocated.

Elsewhere the Rabbitohs had their fourth straight NRL victory with a 36-18 performance over the Canberra Raiders.
