Els under pressure to qualify for Masters

South Africa's former world golf number one Ernie Els is under pressure to qualify for the US Masters, despite a return to form which almost saw him return to the winner's circle earlier this week.

Els, who has played in the season's first major championship every year since 1993 and finished second twice, was furious after dropping shots at the last two holes of the Transitions championship in Florida on Monday, finishing one stroke out of a playoff.

He either has to win a tournament in the next couple of weeks, or improve 12 places to get into the top-50 of the world rankings to qualify for the Masters which starts on the 5th of April.
