The reputation of professional sport in South Korea has been further tarnished after 27 people including baseball and volleyball players and gambling brokers were charged with illegal betting.

The government recently declared a state of emergency following allegations of spot-fixing in professional football, volleyball and baseball.

Investigators believe 17 men's volleyball matches over the last two seasons were fixed.
