Gillespie appears to have inside running for Black Caps second test

The Wellington pace bowler Mark Gillespie appears to have the inside running for the vacant bowling spot in the New Zealand cricket side to play South Africa, in the second test starting in Hamilton tomorrow.

With Tim Southee dropped and both coach John Wright and captain Ross Taylor effectively ruling legspinner Tarun Nethula out, as they don't expect the pitch to offer much assistance to the spinners, it appears a straight choice between Gillespie and Northern District's Brent Arnel.

Taylor says they'll wait till tomorrow morning to make up their minds.

While Arnel was in the squad for the first test, Gillespie hasn't played a test in over three years however Taylor views him as a wicket taker.
