NRL stars cleared of serious injury

Two National Rugby League stars have escaped what appeared to be serious injuries from second round matches.

Newcastle's captain Kurt Gidley will be out for three to five weeks as he recovers from a dislocated shoulder, and veteran hooker Danny Buderus will lead the Knights against Brisbane this weekend.

And Parramatta's fullback Jared Hayne, who thought he was in for full knee reconstruction surgery when he fell awkwardly against the Warriors, doesn't think his injury's too serious, though he's not sure how long he'll be sidelined for.
