Bray reacts to referees criticism

The Sanzar referees boss Lyndon Bray has been busy again, reacting to criticism of his referees in the Super Rugby competition.

Bray admits referee Steve Walsh got it wrong when he refused the Bulls' request for a penalty at the end of their 29-23 loss to the Blues at Loftus Versfeld.

The Blues winger Rene Ranger was yellow and white carded for a dangerous tackle while the Bulls were scoring a try.

The Bulls captain Pierre Spies asked for a penalty on the halfway line, the right call after a yellow card is awarded for foul play. Walsh refused, saying time was up on the clock.

Bray has also admitted there was a big inbalance in the way referee Keith Brown allowed the Brumbies an advantage in hitting in at the scrums in their 24-23 win over the Cheetahs.
