The head of the New Zealand Cricket Players' Association says he's disappointed a British newspaper article has contained allegations that New Zealand players offered to meet with bookmakers.

An article published in England's Sunday Times says the International Cricket Council is to investigate claims that Indian bookmakers, have been fixing English county cricket matches as well as international fixtures.

The newspaper says its reporters had undercover meetings with bookmakers who boasted recruiting players from countries including New Zealand to throw part or all of international games.

Players Association chief Heath Mills says the claims lack credibility and says he's confident no New Zealand players have been involved in match-fixing.
