Veteran rugby league coach Geoff Toovey was full of praise for the character shown by his Manly Sea Eagles side in their 22-18 win over the Wests Tigers in New South Wales.
Despite being behind at half-time Toovery says he was confident his players could still win the game.
Daly Cherry-Evans, Jason King, and Tony Williams scored for tries for Manly.
Elsewhere North Queensland fullback Matt Bowen produced some special magic to pull off an amazing 28-26 NRL win over Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.
The diminutive Bowen stunned the crowd with the match-winning play in the 79th minute, racing from the base of a scrum 20 metres out to score under the posts.
Ten minutes earlier, Brisbane had reclaimed the lead through a try to utility Ben Te'o who finished off a slick movement involving hooker Andrew McCullough, Corey Norman and Justin Hodges.
