There are two changes to the Highlanders starting lineup for Saturday night's Super Rugby clash with the New South Wales Waratahs in Dunedin.

Kade Poki comes into the starting XV for the first time this season, replacing Buxton Popoali'i on the right wing.

Colin Slade will start at fullback, replacing Ben Smith who suffered a head knock in the win over the Crusaders.

Highlanders Captain Jamie Mackintosh will play his 50th game for the franchise.

All Black halfback Jimmy Cowan is on the bench again.

The Highlanders have won two from two so far.
